The School of Business at Örebro University, Sweden, is seeking to appoint a promising early career researcher in economics or statistics. Candidates applying could have a specialization in macroeconomics, financial economics or econometrics but should work within the broad field of applied time-series models.

The post-doctoral researcher position is fixed term and runs for three years (with a possible extension of three years). Funding is provided through a scholarship from a major Swedish research foundation. Focus will be on conducting high-quality research. Time spent on teaching and supervision will be no more than 30 per cent.

The successful candidate will work within the Division of Economics or the Division of Statistics at the School of Business. These two divisions constitute a common research environment which is currently expanding and has high ambitions. Applied time-series modelling – such as Bayesian VARs – is a strong research field which we now aim to improve even further.

The School of Business at Örebro University has a tradition of research and education in economics, statistics, business and informatics. The school is host to a number of research environments with externally funded research projects. Economics and statistics are taught on a number of professional degree programmes resulting in bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Doctoral study programmes in both subjects are also offered. For further information about the School of Business at Örebro University, please see our web site: https://www.oru.se/english/

Candidates will primarily be assessed with respect to scholarly achievement. PhD or anticipated completion by June 2019 is required.

Interviews will primarily be conducted at the EEA job market in Naples (December 2018) and the AEA job market in Atlanta (January 2019), though other locations could be agreed upon. Please indicate at which of these locations a potential interview should be arranged.

For enquiries please contact professor of statistics Sune Karlsson, email: sune.karlsson@oru.se or professor of economics Pär Österholm, email: par.osterholm@oru.se
