RAND economists have opportunities to develop policy-relevant research agendas in any of the many active research areas at RAND. We seek candidates with strong research potential or accomplishments in the areas of labor, defense, education, civil and criminal justice, health and health policy, aging, economic development, and environment. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise or interest in our four federally funded research and development centers that focus on defense and homeland security. RAND economists also have opportunities to teach policy PhD students in the Pardee RAND Graduate School. More information about economics at RAND is available from http://www.rand.org/economics/.

Applicants should have a PhD or expect one by September 2019 and demonstrated research skills, a strong interest in policy-relevant empirical analysis, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
